Let’s make this as short and painless as possible. I made the trip out to Biloxi MS for the WPT $10k event. We started with 20k chips. My day basically went like this. 20k–>18k–>16k–>10k–>9k–>6k–>4k–>2k–>out near the end of level 3. I actually don’t think I played that bad, the key was the 16k–>10k hand, it went like this:

blinds 100/200, tightish guy limps UTG, i’m next with AKo and i limp because sometimes i do things that i don’t usually do, anyway another guy limps, now Steve Sung raises to 500? i might not have reraised but i couldn’t see him actually having a big and so when it got back to me i made it 2500.. he calls and it’s heads up. flop J43, he checks, i bet 3200, he thinks and calls. turn 7, check-check, and i fold to his bet of 5k on the river (we both had about 10k left before his river bet).

After he told him I had AK he told me he had AQ but he followed it up with “I might be lying” so I don’t really know what to make of it. If he really had AQ he made a very interesting play on the flop-turn as it is so easy for me to A) all-in on the turn and he has to fold B) check behind with overpair planning to call him on the river. He has to be sure that I have AK and that I’ll play it weakly.

One last thing, the site is gonna get better, I’m working on it.. might actually be hiring a fropoker staffer! stay tuned..
